protecting the towans from hayle to godrevy

Welcome

The Towans Partnership was formed early in 2002 to bring together land owners, local government, government agencies and other parties interested in protecting, managing and enhancing the Towans.

Towans Rangers Win Britain In Bloom Award

Thanks to the considerable hard work and networking efforts of Paul Clark, the Towans Volunteers have received the award of 'Outstanding - level 5'
Paul and I met the judges back in July and described how we try to maximise joined-up efforts between Save our Sand, Towans Volunteerss and Hayle in Bloom. Our next step is to develop a small garden at the end of King George V Memorial Walk to demonstrate Towans' flora and planting for wildlife.
Paul says it's very unusual to get a level 5 outstanding award for a new venture like this.
Well done Paul and the volunteers!
Martin Rule, Towans Ranger

Footpath Marker

Cornwall Council has produced a leaflet about the Towans from Hayle to Godreavy. You can download a copy by clicking here.

The Southwest Coastal Footpath weaves its way along the whole length of the Towans. Look for the acorn symbol - often seen on slate markers as shown above.
